Training NHS Nurses
Our industry is constantly evolving and techniques are becoming more advanced all the time, pushing boundaries to offer better quality, more realistic treatments for those who have been through breast surgery and trauma, giving back body confidence and self-esteem.

The Partnership
I’m delighted to have been chosen as a partner to the breast reconstruction team at the Royal Victoria Infirmary, to provide training, share knowledge and support to collectively help enhance the in house areola tattoo service, the team at the RVI offers to patients who have had breast cancer.

The Challenge
In house hospital areola tattoos can certainly help to build confidence to those who’ve gone through breast cancer, However, results aren't permanent and don't have longevity. Alongside this, results aren't as realistic as photo realism techniques, therefore patients are needing multiple sessions and regular maintenance, which not only costs more but also prolongs their recovery journey.

The Opportunity
Techniques are constantly evolving in tattoos and the difference between traditional Areola Tattoo and advanced Hyper Realism 3D Areola Tattoo is huge for the patient. Results also last longer and require fewer sessions.

It's not only techniques that have evolved, but also the availability and quality of inks on the market, needle selection and quality of machines - all of which can take Areola Tattoo to the next level but can also have cost efficiencies for the RVI.

As part of this partnership, Jo Little advised in this area to help the RVI to not only upskill the team in house, but also make recommendations for long-term cost savings on equipment, inks and supplies. She continues to work with surgeons across the UK to ensure the best possible results for patients.
