Jo Little is a recognised cosmetic and medical areola tattoo artist, recently awarded Areola Artist of the UK. With a background in art and drawing. Specialising in ultra-realistic procedures, including 3D areola/nipple tattooing for cancer survivors post-mastectomy and advanced hyper-realism eyebrow tattooing, perfect for those with alopecia and hair loss, as well as over plucked brows.

Additionally, Jo is fully qualified in scalp micropigmentation and hair density tattoo, a technique that's all about restoring confidence along with thinning hair – something that means the world to her clients.

Jo has a solid grasp of color theory and realism drawing skills to create completely realistic results for clients - that fit their unique features, face and body.

Jo's time is spent between her home studio on the coast near Newcastle and every two weeks in East London, Hackney. Appointments are available in both locations.

Birthmarks/ port wine stains like this usually respond better with laser. Tattooing is difficult as they are vascular. He had tried multiple lasers since childhood and nothing had worked for him.

This is after 3 sessions using colour theory and correctors and then skin coloured inks. We have another session or 2 to go. It will never dissapear but the difference has made my client very happy! Get so much satisfaction doing medical tattoo.

NATURAL MALE HYPER REALISM BROW TATTOO ➡️ 🩵

My client had hardly any brow hair due to a condition called ulerythema ophryogenes.

The brief was to creat a Masculine hair pattern that no one would know wasn’t really brow hair and that blended with his own brow hair that was left, I also wanted to lift his eyes as well.

No blocks or harsh colours.. Just your brows but better, designed just for you and blended seamlessly with your own brows whether you have a little or a lot. I always do less is more so I can see how the ink heals on the skin. In most cases I tend to go a fraction darker once the brows heal and settle.

JUICY LIP BLUSH TATTOO 🩷 THIS WILL FADE TO A LIGHTER ROSE PINK

Worked on creating a heart shape cupids bow and full saturation, though this will fade more like a watercolour version of this hot pink shade (lip tattoo always looks more red at first as the blood flow is increased to the surface)

She has really full lips anyway but the border was pale and undefined. They were quite cool in colour with purple undertones and she wanted a heart shape Cupid’s bow.

This is a pink rose colour that will soften and sink into the lips over the coming weeks.

Delighted to be able to give this lovely lady a little bit of herself back to mark the end of her breast cancer and surgery journey. Nipples come in all shapes and sizes and this week someone said, “oh I was having this I would want no realistic little lumps or bumps”. I totally get that and you’re free to choose colour and style to some degree if it’s from scratch but quite often when creating a realistic Areola tattoo I’m actually matching the original nipple on the other side if it’s a single mastectomy. This was the case here and I really enjoyed creating this more brown toned nipple and making it look 3D to reflect the other side.

TOE NAIL RESTORATION TATTOO: This was super fun to do yesterday for my lovely client. He had his big toe nails removed and it was a pleasure to be able to restore them and some confidence - ready for spring, this will likely take 3 sessions as it’s an area that doesn’t hold ink as well as other parts of the body but layering helps to build them over the sessions. It isn’t the most comfortable so full respect to my client! Who sat for 2.5 hours today 🩵

The next session I’ll work more on the middle and getting those lighter inks in and more realism.
